Award-winning promotion of young talent

Winner of the moments Award 2024

There are awards that are about far more than a trophy or a ranking. They are the result of vision, commitment and consistent work. The moments Award 2024 in the category of promotion of young talent, which our company received in Graz on 21 November 2024, is confirmation for us that sustainable commitment has a real, long-term impact.

However, this award is not only a recognition of our achievements to date, but also a reminder that we took the right path twelve years ago with the launch of our trainee initiative (young employees who go through different stages in the company). What began as an ambitious project has now developed into a successful concept - thanks to the tireless efforts of many. It reflects the performance of the youngest among us, who show day after day how much potential, hard work and passion they have.

12 years of the trainee initiative - a success story

When we launched the trainee initiative in 2012, it wasn't just about creating apprenticeships. Our aim was to offer young people more than what is included in a curriculum. We wanted to help them not only to grow, but also to develop in the direction of their strengths. Since then, we have achieved a lot together:

  • Targeted promotion: with our trainee programme, we make performance visible and promote the development of our apprentices and graduates in the long term.
  • Awards: We came top in the national prize for apprenticeship training:
  • 6th place nationwide and 1st place in Styria in 2013
  • 7th place nationwide and 2nd place in Styria in 2015
  • Commitment to promoting technical education: As the main sponsor of the HTL Weiz robotics team, we celebrated two international world championship titles: in China in 2015 and seven years later in Bangkok in 2022, as well as Austrian champions in 2016, 2019 and 2022.

What makes our apprentices special

Our apprentices are an indispensable part of our company. "I am very proud to have taken on the patronage of our apprentices in 2012. I am very impressed by their commitment, their collegiality and their social skills, which they are already showing at such a young age," says CEO Gerald Kreiner about his youngest employees. We have interviewed two of them:

Lukas Adelmann

A young talent who has been with us for three years

Lukas Adelmann, 18 years young, encountered BT-Systems for the first time at the Jobday in Weiz. Like many young people, he had several options as to where he could have started his apprenticeship. He had got to know several companies and decided in favour of our company after taster days. Why? "I really appreciate the personal environment and the family atmosphere. My colleagues are great. I didn't feel I was in such good hands with the other companies," he explains.

Today, he is part of our process control technology and plant engineering team and loves the variety and challenges that his work brings. When asked whether, in retrospect, he had chosen the right company, he answers without hesitation: "Yes, it was definitely the right decision!" At BT-Systems, he has not only found a varied and challenging working environment, but also a great team that supports and encourages him every day.

Mohammad Hossain Haidari

From technical college to BT-Systems

Mohammad Hossain found his way to BT-Systems via the website. After a successful entrance test and several taster days, he started his apprenticeship exactly two months ago and is now responsible for several areas of switchgear construction. He has discovered his true passion for craftsmanship and sees the results of his work every day.

"My colleagues are very good to me. They are helpful and helped me to settle in quickly. I really enjoy coming to work every day," he says.

He also recently demonstrated his skills in Slovenia, when he attracted international attention as Vice World Champion in Savate - also known as French boxing - which is characterised by speed and tactical movements.

Managing Director and patron of the trainees Gerald Kreiner did not miss the opportunity to be there live and cheer him on: "I am delighted to see how determined Mohammad is in pursuing his goals both at and outside of work. A young role model!"

Thanks to the entire team behind the success
production team, which supports and looks after our youngest employees on a daily basis, we would also like to thank Mr Josef Wagner and our team of mentors. Their commitment ensures that our apprentices can develop not only professionally, but also personally.

And, of course, the greatest thanks go to our apprentices themselves. It is their enthusiasm, commitment and solidarity that show time and again how strong our foundations are.

A look into the future
This award is not a goal, but an incentive for us. We will continue to invest in our youth development programme, continue to support young talent and achieve new milestones together.
